Lions International

Lions International is the world's largest service club organization with 1.35 million members. There are more than 46,000 clubs in 208 countries and geographic areas. Regardless of what language they speak, religion they practice or politics they espouse, all Lions are dedicated to seeking out and helping those in need. Our programs are as diversified as our members. Started in 1917, the Lions became international with the formation of a club in Windsor, Ontario, Canada in 1920. Through the years, as the world has changed, our programs have evolved to meet new needs and greater demands. Our mission has never wavered:

WE SERVE

LIONS CLUBS INTERNATIONAL PURPOSE

TO CREATE and foster a spirit of understanding among the peoples of the world.

TO PROMOTE the principles of good government and good citizenship.

TO TAKE an active interest in the civic, cultural, social and moral welfare of the community.

TO UNITE the clubs in the bonds of friendship, good fellowship and mutual understanding.

TO PROVIDE a forum for the open discussion of all matters of public interest: provided, however, that partisan politics and sectarian religion shall not be debated my club members.

TO ENCOURAGE service-minded people to serve their community without personal financial reward, and to encourage efficiency and promote high ethical standards in commerce, industry, professions, public works and private endeavors.
